Manchester United make decision on Mike Phelan’s future
United have removed Mike Phelan from the first-team coaching staff but he remains contracted to the club.
Phelan has not been visible during Erik ten Hag's coaching sessions in pre-season and the club have confirmed Phelan is no longer involved in first-team affairs.
United are still in discussions with Phelan about a potential ambassadorial role. Former players Bryan Robson, Denis Irwin, Andy Cole and Wes Brown are the ambassadors present in Thailand for the club's pre-season tour.

Erik ten Hag sets challenge to youngsters on pre-season tour
Ten Hag admits there is room for 'one or two' youngsters to break into the United first-team squad if they manage to catch his eye on the pre-season tour.
The new United manager named a 31-man squad for the club's summer schedule, with a host of academy graduates given a crash course in what it is like to be part of the senior set-up.
Teenage trio Charlie Savage, Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho were all included, along with a number of promising players who spent last season on loan away from the club, such as Nathan Bishop, Matej Kovar, Ethan Laird, James Garner, Facundo Pellistri and Amad.
