Erik ten Hag has insisted he is not expecting Sir Jim Ratcliffe to splash the cash on his Manchester United squad when the British billionaire completes his minority shareholder purchase.
A deal worth in the region of £1.25billion for 25 per cent of the Red Devils is widely reported to be completed in the next fortnight.
Ratcliffe's exact plans for United are yet to become clear but it has been suggested that he will helm the club's on-pitch affairs.
This is set to see him reduce Ten Hag's role in the transfer window by overhauling the recruitment strategy and installing fresh faces including a sporting director.
A further £245m is reportedly being invested by Ratcliffe on the club's physical infrastructure after longstanding complaints over the condition of Old Trafford.
Ten Hag said ahead of this weekend's trip to Fulham that he does not need to spend big in the January market despite a recent downturn of results, which has put his future at risk.
He told reporters: "I have a good squad.
"I'm convinced about the players we have in the dressing room. We saw these players last year, they can do a lot better, but that's up to me to let them play better.
"I have to take the responsibility to make them play better and I will put every effort in to get this done. I'm not thinking about transfer windows because I have a good squad."
