Erik ten Hag pictured in London after secret Man Utd meeting to officially begin job

Incoming Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has been spotted in London as he starts to prepare for life in charge of the Red Devils from next season onwards.

The Dutchman touched down in the capital on Wednesday after flying in from Amsterdam by private jet. Ten Hag was immediately whisked to United's Mayfair offices to meet other high-ranking club officials and start thrashing out plans to restore United to their former glories.

Chief executive Richard Arnold and football director John Murtough were both present for the discussions. Ten Hag's arrival into London was completed in top secret fashion, with the ex-Ajax manager smuggled into a waiting car and quickly driven to Mayfair before any members of the media could picture the new United boss.

But he was pictured later in the day in a car in the capital after talks to give him a clearer idea as to the task he has at hand. The 52-year-old is expected to spend the next few days in London attending many meetings before making the trip to Selhurst Park to watch United in action when they take on Crystal Palace for the final game of a miserable season.

Ten Hag is thought to be keen on the idea of watching United play in the flesh before he takes the reins so he can get a better grasp of what needs to be improved and which players he can depend on once his reign officially starts.

Though he will be there watching, Ten Hag is not expected to go into the dressing room and actually meet any of the players before kick-off. The introductions will be saved until after the full-time whistle blows before the playing squad all jet off to different directions for their summer holidays.

Ten Hag has revealed that a number of United's squad have already reached out to him via Whatsapp to inform the Dutchman of their excitement to be working with him next term. The new manager has already made it clear to those above him what areas of the team he will be looking to strengthen in during the summer window.

A raid on Ten Hag's former side is expected as United are relentlessly linked with Ajax duo Jurrien Timber and Brazilian winger Antony. Ex-Ajax star Frenkie de Jong now plies his trade for Barcelona, but is also regarded as a potential summer signing.

The new manager has thrown himself into his work following his appointment at Old Trafford, with Ten Hag wasting precious little time between the end of Ajax's season and jetting into London to start his work as Red Devils' boss.
