Manchester United have already received contact from other clubs regarding a potential deal for Dean Henderson ahead of the summer transfer window.
Henderson, 26, is a United academy graduate but has only managed a handful of appearances for the senior side and has spent the majority of his career away from Old Trafford on loan.
The highly-rated shot-stopper is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest after snubbing the chance to hold talks with Erik ten Hag last summer following the Dutchman's appointment. And although Henderson is scheduled to return to United at the end of the current campaign, there is interest from clubs who would be willing to offer the England international a permanent exit.
According to The Athletic, two clubs have made contact over signing Henderson on a permanent basis and United could cash in if, as expected, David de Gea agrees a new contract in the coming months.
Henderson is under contract until 2025, meaning the summer transfer window could be the optimum time to cash in on a player who also refused the opportunity to return to Old Trafford in January following a phone conversation with Ten Hag.
Given that Henderson was fairly damning of the club's "criminal" handling of him in the wake of his season-long switch to Nottingham Forest earlier in the season, it's likely the opportunity to seal a permanent move away from Manchester United would appeal.

He revealed last year that he was determined not to talk to Ten Hag so the former Ajax chief couldn't persuade him to play second fiddle to De Gea like he had done during Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tenure.
He told talkSPORT back in August: "I didn't want the manager to come in and be able to see me in training. I knew he'd probably want to keep me, so I tried to do it all before I left for the season. I told all the hierarchy I need to go and play football, I don't want to be here playing second fiddle.
"It was all planned out. I was almost gone before the manager came through the door and I haven't spoken to him since. To be honest with you, it's probably been the toughest 12 months of my career. It's been tough, it's been hard and I'm so happy I've got out the other end of it. I'm so excited to be here and ready to go.
Henderson revealed that he was informed he would be the club's No.1 goalkeeper after Euro 2020 after dislodging De Gea in the final months of the 2020/21 campaign - only for Solskjaer to go back on his word. He added: "It was frustrating because I turned down so many good loans last summer for that reason and they wouldn't let me go. So, it was frustrating. To sit there and waste 12 months, it's criminal really at my age."
