Erik ten Hag has praised the way his Manchester United side bounced back after being humiliated by Liverpool in their Premier League match last Sunday.
The Dutchman had won United's first trophy for seven years the previous week after beating Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final before travelling to Anfield to then lose 7-0 and equal the club's worst ever defeat.
United were able to put the Anfield embarrassment behind them on Thursday night with a 4-1 win over Real Betis in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag started with the same starting XI that played against Jurgen Klopp's side on Sunday as they looked to rid themselves of the ill feeling surrounding that match.
"Definitely (the response I wanted)," Ten Hag said. "We said that we had to reset and we have to bounce back and I think we played quite good first half. I think we should have been up 3-0 also, but then we make one mistake.
"Then you go 1-1 into half-time but we bounce back in the second half and I think it was a really good performance in the second half. It's not about ignoring (the Liverpool defeat). We make mistakes and we got hammered for that because we didn't control the standards we have.
"We showed complacency and you can never do that in top football."
