Erik ten Hag is set to make big changes to his Manchester United squad over the summer, with the manager targeting a striker, a central defender and a dynamic midfielder
All three of United's January signings were temporary ones. Goalkeeper Jack Butland joined on loan from Crystal Palace, with Burnley striker Wout Weghorst arriving on a deal until the end of the season and Ten Hag's side borrowing Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich on transfer deadline day.
As well as the proposed new signings, United are expected to offload as many as six members of their first-team squad. This includes Eric Bailly and Alex Telles, both of whom are currently out on loan, but £80m centre-back Harry Maguire is also thought to be one of those on the way out.
Ten Hag oversaw some big changes over the summer, with United forking out around £200m in transfer fees to bring Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia to Old Trafford. The manager will be keen to make further additions, and the sale of some previous big-money signings could free up those funds.
As well as Maguire, Bailly and Telles, United are prepared to listen to offers for Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial and academy product Scott McTominay. The five members of the sextet who commanded fees originally set United back more than £200m, though it is unlikely the full amount would be recouped.
None of the potential departures have been regulars for United under Ten Hag, despite Van de Beek impressing under his compatriot at previous club Ajax. The midfielder has started just four times this season, and suffered a fresh injury setback against Bournemouth at the start of January.

French forward Martial had impressed in pre-season but has struggled with a succession of injuries. He returned from his last injury with a goal against Nottingham Forest in midweek, but missed out on United's weekend victory over Crystal Palace with a calf problem
"He had a set back from the game when he returned [against Nottingham Forest]," Ten Hag told MUTV. "He dropped a little bit back. We have to wait, we have to be patient."
A number of strikers have been linked with United ahead of the summer. Some of the loudest reports have surrounded Napoli hotshot Victor Osimhen, though the Nigerian international would not come cheap.
The search for a centre-back, meanwhile, comes off the back of deadline day interest in Maguire and Victor Lindelof, with Inter Milan interested in the pair. England centre-back Maguire and United team-mate Raphael Varane both turn 30 in the spring, and Ten Hag has already added a younger option in the form of Martinez.
