Erik ten Hag has only been at Manchester United for a matter of months, but already the Dutchman has reinvigorated players who appeared to be going nowhere under the previous Old Trafford regime.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are two names who immediately spring to mind, with Rashford excelling as a No.9 prior to Sunday's chastening 6-3 defeat against Manchester City. And although Martial's late brace had a minimal effect on the game, the Frenchman underlined why Ten Hag has handed the Frenchman a reprieve after being impressed with the striker's efforts in pre-season.
But one player who has so far failed to reap the rewards of a fresh start under Ten Hag is Donny van de Beek.
The former Ajax playmaker flourished under Ten Hag's guidance during their time together in Amsterdam before United swooped in to snap up Van de Beek in a £40million deal - but the 25-year-old has struggled to make any sort of impression since making the switch to the Premier League.
It was hoped that Ten Hag's arrival could act as a catalyst for Van de Beek in his bid to salvage his Manchester United career. However, that has failed to materialise - and the midfielder is now attracting interest from elsewhere.
According to Fichajes, Inter Milan are mulling over a move for Van de Beek. The report claims that Van de Beek has emerged as a 'priority' for the Italian giants, and the midfielder 'will seek a January exit' if his situation at Old Trafford doesn't improve.

But although Van de Beek would be open to moving on in the New Year, it remains to be seen if Ten Hag would be willing to sanction a permanent exit.
The Manchester United boss refused an approach from Ajax back in the summer as they sought to acquire Van de Beek on loan for the season, and it was claimed at the time that Ten Hag was convinced that the midfielder could rediscover his form.
Fresh transfer interest will test that stance - and it that could give Ten Hag the opportunity to perform a U-turn following Van de Beek's lack of action so far this term.
Van de Beek is currently sidelined with a knock, but prior to that, he had clocked up just 19 minutes of action since he was challenged to force his way into United's first-team plans by his boss during the club's pre-season tour.
"It's the same for every player; he has to do it by himself," Ten Hag said on Van de Beek in the summer. "Me as manager and the coaching staff around him can do everything to set the right conditions so he can perform, but in the end, the player has to do it himself.
"They have to take responsibility for their performance. Donny has the capability and I have seen it [when at Ajax], but he has to prove himself."
