When Amad joined Sunderland on loan at the beginning of the season, it did not look promising for the youngster.
Since arriving at Manchester United, the Ivorian had not made the impact he would have desired. A negative loan spell at Rangers in the last campaign looked like it had ruined Amad's chances of breaking through into the first team.
However, in the North East the winger has blossomed under the leadership of Tony Mowbray. After a rocky start, the 20-year-old has become a key player for the Black Cats.

Amad reached double figures on Good Friday with a brace against Hull City and this form will no doubt have given Erik ten Hag something to think about. In an interview with FourFourTwo, the youngster declared that he wanted to return to the Reds next season and put what he has learnt into practice.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, he said: "I haven’t shown my best for them [United] yet, but I hope next season I can return and prove my talent. My dream is to play regular football at Manchester United."
Should he wish to make that leap, Ten Hag has already explained what he must do - agreeing with the forward's latest comments that he will need to prove his talent for United. Speaking in January when asked if he was thinking about recalling Amad, the Dutchman said: "We consider everything, but I have a little bit of reservation about that because I don’t want to stop the process.
"He's made really good progress there so I’m happy with that. When we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting line-up or come on for a lot of games and make an impact."
Arguably, Amad's goals in the second tier have shown that he can make an impact in the United squad. However, the true test will come at Carrington when he is compared to the likes of Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri and Anthony Elanga.
Amad must show that he can offer something different to them that will prove his worth to Ten Hag.
