Erik ten Hag's admission suggests Manchester United are getting the new Pep Guardiola

Previous comments made from Erik ten Hag prove Manchester United might be getting their own Pep Guardiola, after his appointment at United was confirmed.

Having sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, key figures in the Old Trafford boardroom have turned to Ajax boss Ten Hag as their next permanent boss. The club announced the news officially on Thursday morning.

Ralf Rangnick is still in interim charge and will take up an advisory role at the end of this season, with Ten Hag starting work at United in the summer. PSG boss Muricio Pochettino was in the running, but United have turned to the Ajax boss instead, who said: "It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead."
