Eric Donovan believes his upcoming bout is the biggest of his career as he faces the two-time Olympic Gold medal winner Robeisy Ramirez .
The Lilywhite Lightning is in action alongside a number of other Irish fighters on Saturday night in Glasgow on the undercard of Josh Taylor world title defence against Jack Catterall.
The Kildare man currently boasts a 14-1 record with his sole defeat coming at the hands of Zelfa Barrett back in August 2020 and Donovan is relishing the opportunity.
Speaking ahead of the fight, he said: "It's a huge night and the biggest of my boxing career, I think it's fair to say that.
"I'm under no illusion of how big of a task and challenge it's going to be.
"When my manager presented me with this opportunity and challenge he didn't have to ask me twice.
"I'm in this game to test myself against the best and prove myself and when I do finally look back on my career I want to think about legacy and I want to be remembered as someone who took on great fighters and was a part of great fights and you don't get any better than two-time Olympic gold medallist and I'm relishing the opportunity."
Tokyo Olympian Kurt Walker is set to make his professional debut on Saturday when he takes on Jaroslav Hriadel.
And Walker spoke about training alongside Michael Conlan ahead of the fight.
"I've been in camp for three months with Michael Conlan so I've been putting in the camp he's been putting in for his world title and what a show to be on and I'm buzzing for it.
"He's in great form and being around winners makes you a winner and that's what I'm going to do.
"I'm delighted with everything and looking forward to putting on a performance."
Paddy Donovan will also feature on the card as he hopes to further improve his undefeated record.
Facing Miroslav Serban, Donovan said that fans can expect a big performance.
"I'm very excited, it's a big platform for me so I'm going to perform well. I've trained well and had a great training camp and have no complaints.
"I'm ready to fight and I'm very excited to be here in Scotland and the fans are unbelievable. I'm very excited to get in there and put in a masterpiece of a performance and showcase my skill to the world.
"They're going to expect a world class performance. I believe I am one of the best prospects in golfing coming through and I want to be the best fighter in the history of Ireland and it's going to start come Saturday night."
Galway's Kieran Molloy will also compete on Saturday's card when he faces Damian Esquisabel.
