Eric Carmen's Posthumous Hits 'Hungry Eyes' And 'All By Myself'

Me, myself and I and my shadow

American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and keyboardist Eric Carmen, a former member of The Raspberries, passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 74 earlier this month. The news of his death prompted a resurgence in interest in his music, with many fans revisiting his work in tribute to the late musician.

This week, Carmen posthumously achieved a significant milestone by landing his first two hits on the Digital Song Sales chart. These placements mark a notable achievement for Carmen, as the chart did not exist during his prime years in the music industry.

On the latest edition of the Digital Song Sales chart, Carmen's track 'Hungry Eyes' debuted at No. 13, selling 2,362 copies in the tracking period. Additionally, his iconic song 'All By Myself' entered the chart at No. 14, with 2,321 copies sold.

These two songs are among Carmen's most popular hits, with both tracks having reached the top 10 on the Hot 100 chart during his lifetime. 'All By Myself' notably peaked at No. 2, marking a career high for the talented artist. Carmen later achieved another top 10 hit with 'Make Me Lose Control,' which climbed to No. 3 on the charts.

It is noteworthy that Carmen's resurgence on the Digital Song Sales chart coincides with new releases from contemporary artists such as Ariana Grande, Livingston, Forrest Frank, and Tenacious D, showcasing the enduring appeal of his music across generations.
