The Washington Commanders could have their offensive coordinator by the end of the day Friday, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Rapoport said things were “trending in the right direction” for Bieniemy to land with the Commanders as their next offensive coordinator. Bieniemy is coming off his second Super Bowl win in the last four seasons as the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs.
Washington fired offensive coordinator Scott Turner on Jan. 10.
Eric Bieniemy is back in the building today, his second day in a row as Ron Rivera's #Commanders and Bieniemy work through specifics. But this likely ends with Bieniemy as the new coordinator. https://t.co/95AJmrWEcq

Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated also noted how Bieniemy would be back in Ashburn Friday with the two sides working on finalizing a deal. Per Breer, it sounds like staffing and contract details are all that stand in the way of Bieniemy’s eventual hiring.
Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy will be back in Ashburn to continue talks with Commanders coach Ron Rivera today. Sources say they'll cover staffing and contract this AM. If things go well, Washington could have its OC by the end of the day.
Rivera and Andy Reid have been in touch, too.

Current Washington wide receivers coach Drew Terrell will interview with the Arizona Cardinals for their offensive coordinator vacancy. Quarterbacks coach Ken Zampese interviewed with Rivera for Washington’s vacancy. So Bieniemy could be adding some new coaches to Washington’s staff.
