Manchester United loanee Eric Bailly was sent-off for Marseille in their Coupe de France clash at lower league Hyeres following a horror challenge on an opponent.
Bailly, who was shipped out by United during the summer transfer window last year as part of a mass exodus orchestrated by Erik ten Hag, is on loan at the heart of Marseille’s defence this season and has picked up the seventh red card of his career.
The incident on Saturday against fourth division side Hyeres occurred in the 15th minute with Bailly and Moussa N'Diaye attacking a bouncing ball. Ivorian international Bailly was beaten to the ball but the strength and recklessness of his challenge saw him kick N’Diaye on the right-hand side of his chest.
