Erenshor is a single-player MMO-like title that has a demo out now on PC via Steam and features cloud saves, friendly AI, and Steam Deck compatibility.

Develop Burgee Media aims to address the issue that other MMO titles face. This is how they often require a major time investment to fully appreciate. They also usually require a lot of coordination with clanmates to complete some of the most difficult raids or challenges.

Single-Player MMO-Like

Erenshor features a single-player approach that lets players step away from the game at will without fear of repercussions, even if the party is in the middle of a raid. You will also be able to come right back where you left off when you're ready to play again.

In order to maintain the MMO experience without other players, the game creates randomly generated special teammates known as "SimPlayers" who will accompany you. They will join your party and help you on quests and missions, according to Game Spot.

Erenshor's game world is broken up into various zones, such as cities, dungeons, and many others. Players can fully explore each zone from the very start of the game. Each one is also populated by hundreds of NPCs separate from SimPlayers.

The single-player MMO-like title does not yet have an official launch window. But the recently updated Steam demo adds a new spooky-themed area known as Shivering Step. It also features six bosses and various items you can enjoy over a dozen hours of gameplay.

One of the biggest new features in the demo is compatibility with Steam Deck. This allows players to play the game on their handheld devices.

There is also in-development support for gamepads and additional accessibility buttons for the user interface (UI), MassivelyOP said.

Erenshor Demo

The studio behind the game said that Erenshor gives players without too much time to devote to a "real" MMORPG a chance to experience the genre.

Developer Brina Burgee said that getting the game up and running on the Steam Deck was one of the most important ways to achieve such a feat.

The latest patch to the Erenshor demo on Steam also made several updates to SimPlayers that help them walk through maps more easily. They will also function much better in group content while assisting players.

The game is said to utilize a standard control scheme and will have tutorials updated to match. Steam Cloud Saves also allow cross-saves between the Steam Deck and PC if you need to, according to MMORPG.
