Pensioners under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS)-95 who can't submit their life certificate have the option to get doorstep assistance through the postal department.
According to EPS-95 rules, pensioners must provide their Life Certificate once every year to continue receiving pension without interruption. Pensioners can also submit a Digital Life Certificate (DLC), also known as Jeevan Pramaan, which is a biometric-enabled digital certificate based on Aadhaar that confirms the pensioner's living status.
What is Jeevan Praman or Digital Life Certificate (DLC)?
Jeevan Pramaan is a biometric enabled Aadhaar-based Digital Life Certificate for pensioners. Jeevan Pramaan, that is DLC, is generated for individual pensioners using their Aadhaar numbers and Biometrics.
The EPS pensioner can login by providing his Pramaan ID to generate a one-time password and use it to sign in to the system to download the certificate.
When should the EPS Pensioner submit a life certificate?
Every pensioner under the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995, needs to update their Life Certificates (LC) within a year from when they last submitted their life certificate or Jeevan Pramaan.
What to do if a pensioner is unable to submit a life certificate?
If any pensioner is unable to submit a life certificate, they can call 033-22029000 and a postal worker will visit your home and submit the life certificate' free of cost.
