New Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin has expressed his support for the Trump administration's efforts to reduce the federal workforce. Recently, over 1,000 EPA workers were notified that they were on probationary status and could face immediate termination. Zeldin clarified that approximately 1,700 probationary employees received this notification.
Zeldin highlighted that employees are being presented with options, such as voluntary early retirement, to streamline operations and enhance productivity. He emphasized the importance of being efficient and prudent stewards of taxpayer dollars. Zeldin mentioned his intention to collaborate with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, to explore opportunities for enhancing operational effectiveness.
