Enzo Fernandez sends clear Graham Potter message to supporters amid pressure over Chelsea sacking

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez has called on supporters to trust the players and the manager ahead of a crucial match with Tottenham this weekend. The rallying call has come after a tough run of form for the Blues, who currently sit mid-table in the Premier League.

It has led to mounting pressure on manager Graham Potter, who is yet to find the perfect blend that will produce the results needed. Despite increased talk over a potential dismissal for the head coach, the board appear to have stuck by their first appointment for the time being.

"Yes, I've spoken to them and it's the same as it's always been," Potter told the media when asked if he has spoken to the Chelsea board. "There has always been support. I've been under pressure here for four months from you guys. Have you spoken to the owners? Do you have their support?

"That continues and they've been great, brilliant. They also see where we're at but at the same time are frustrated because the results are what they are and we have to do better."

Following defeat to Southampton, the Blues have little respite as they face London rivals Tottenham on Sunday in a huge clash that will either see them sink or swim. Amid talks over performances and questions hanging over the manager, January signing Fernandez has called for trust in the side.

He told the Telegraph: "Trust the players, trust the backroom staff, trust the manager. Never forget that we are representing you, that we are trying to win games, starting on Sunday. Then we can start to turn things around.”

It remains to be seen whether the current regime will be able to turnaround their poor form so far, however the current message of unity appears consistent from the board to the management staff, all the way to the players.
