Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez has admitted he will do everything in his power to achieve the club's goals after signing for a British record £106.7million transfer from Benfica on deadline day. The Blues worked tirelessly into the final days of the January transfer window in order to sign Fernandez and after days of negotiations the deal was confirmed at the eleventh hour.
The 22-year-old completed his medical and signed the necessary documents in Portugal before flying to London on Wednesday. Fernandez took part in his first Chelsea training session on Thursday, and having played for Benfica multiple times in January he is certainly match fit and in his pre-Fulham press conference, Graham Potter confirmed he could feature.
"We'll see. We've got to go through the paperwork and he needs to get clearance and all that," Potter said. "I've spoken to him. My Spanish isn't great and his English isn't great, so we needed a translator, but we'll get there. He is an impressive young man and I'm really excited to work with him."
