Enzo Fernandez eyeing Premier League title as Mauricio Pochettino raises expectations at Chelsea

Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is confident the Blues can challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Blues have undergone another rebuild this summer and enjoyed a promising pre-season under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

After such a disappointing campaign last year, there is optimism at Stamford Bridge again as Pochettino looks to restore former glories.

Fernandez looks primed for a key role under his compatriot and could be joined in midfield by Moises Caicedo.

The Brighton star skipped training on Monday in an effort to force through a move to Chelsea after the club made multiple bids to sign him, all of which have been rejected.

While a ball is yet be kicked and there has been so much turbulence around the club, there is fresh hope under Pochettino, who has a proven track record in the Premier League.

Fernandez believes that the former Tottenham manager’s appointment has raised expectations, with a title tilt possible.

“The main aim this year is to win the Premier League,” he said.

“Now we have a new head coach, you have to say the expectations of us have changed. Obviously, when I arrived, everything was difficult, there were lots of changes going on and everything happened so fast for me.

“We want to be an aggressive team team that attacks and defends well, that goes into every game to win it, no matter the opponent. We want to dominate every game we’re in.”
