Inspired and motivated by Humber Business Week? Keen to champion your company and employees following a wave of enthusiasm washing over the estuary? If so then keep the high tide of positivity flowing and enter the Hull Live Business Awards.
The journey to November’s gala celebration for the 2023 accolades starts here, with a new dedicated website and refreshed awards categories making it easier than ever to get involved.
And recognition of the stamina and resilience of Hull and East Yorkshire’s business communities will no doubt be a key factor as challenge after challenge has been negotiated. Companies had barely dusted themselves down from Covid when the invasion of Ukraine sent inflation rocketing, having had to handle Brexit’s impact throughout. Now with the cost-of-living crisis to factor in when it comes to the customer base for so many, it has all conspired to make it one of the most testing times ever known.
Look back at last year: Winners crowned at Hull Live Business Awards 2022
Success shines through still though, and the Hull Live Business Awards will ensure those tales are told, inspiring others and encouraging the next generation of entrepreneurs.
A glittering ceremony will take place on November 16, with a dozen awards to present to winning businesses. They will highlight achievement, effort and innovation, building on the stories documented via dedicated website Business Live and the Hull Live and Hull Daily Mail titles, all part of the Reach Plc news brand stable.
Business editor David Laister, said: “Businesses and organisations performing well through the past few years deserve these plaudits. While challenges often throw up opportunities for those fleet of foot, the economic landscape faced has felt like the sprint hurdles run on repeat.
“The Hull Live Business Awards - and the act of putting an entry forward - provides the perfect opportunity to pause and take stock of just what has been achieved, and I look forward to hearing of the endeavours of so many.”
Open to companies of all sizes from pioneering start-ups to the powerhouses driving the region’s economy, categories are designed to appeal to businesses from all sectors and industries – from technology and innovation to green energy and manufacturing.
And it’s not just businesses that are celebrated. There is recognition for individual talent, be it an entrepreneur who has launched a business and grown it successfully, or a star employee who has stood out from all others.
A new headline partner is also on board for 2023, Connexin. The smart city and broadband specialist has had quite a year itself, expanding into new headquarters off Clough Road following a series of acquisitions in the city.
Alex Yeung, co-founder and deputy chief executive, said: “As a local business born and bred in Hull, we’re passionate about the entrepreneurial community in our city and the incredible potential it holds. It’s more important than ever to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our local businesses and we’re delighted to be supporting the Hull Live Business Awards.
“Together, we create an environment that nurtures innovation, drives economic growth, and creates lasting opportunities. We’re proud to be part of this year's awards, and we’re excited to recognise and honour the inspiring success stories that make our city thrive!”
The closing date for nominations is Sunday, September 24, with all applications made via the dedicated website www.HLBusinessawards.co.uk. Some are open to self nomination, while lifetime contribution is a closed category and not open for entries.
Tickets are also on sale now for the event, to be held once again at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Hull, via the website, with Cobus Communications and John Roe Toyota also on board as event partners.
