Shocking images show Barclays bank on Edinburgh's historic Princes Street completely smashed up.
The pictures, shared with Edinburgh Live, show a large hole visible to the front of the building, that is situated in the heart of Scotland’s capital.
It is not known exactly what the damage was caused by but it is understood that Barclays are treating the incident as an act of severe vandalism at this present time and they are ensuring that the safety of their staff is guaranteed as the incident is investigated by Police Scotland.

Police tape cordoning off the business and pavement in front of it can be seen in the devastating images.
It is not yet understood when the incident took place and what the smashed window panes but the glass on the front of the building looks to be completely cracked with a large hole in the middle.
A pile of glass below the large hole can also be seen in the images, with Police Scotland officers still in attendance at the site of the incident.
A spokesperson for Barclays bank said: “Our priority is to ensure the health and safety of our colleagues and customers. We are working hard to get the Princes Street branch open as soon as we possibly can.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “We were called around 4.05am on Monday, 23 May, to a report of damage at a business premises on Princes Street, Edinburgh. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
