An entire street of parked cars have been vandalised in a Welsh city centre. The spate of damage was caused to vehicles parked in Newport on Saturday night.
Passersby said approximately eight or more cars had their wing mirrors damaged or completely knocked off as they were parked along Baneswell Road in the city centre on Saturday night. You can get the latest WalesOnline newsletters e-mailed to you directly for free by signing up here.
Pictures taken at the scene show a number of wing mirrors on the floor of the street. One man, who was walking along the street on Saturday night, said cars on both sides of the road had been vandalised, some with wing mirrors on both sides of the car damaged.

He said: “I was just walking home and I noticed all these wing mirrors lying on the pavement. Someone has obviously gone along the street and knocked them off, probably with some force like a kick. It must be so frustrating for the owners of the cars, who had probably just gone into town on a Saturday night and then returned to find their cars damaged.
"It's hard enough to improve people's perception of Newport without idiots engaging in such needless vandalism. If those people had travelled to Newport to visit on a Saturday night, they might think twice about doing it next time."
The man said police attended the scene and were notified by some of those affected. Gwent Police has been approached for comment regarding the incident but had not responded at time of publication.
