The leader of Leeds’ Conservative group of councillors has called for Boris Johnson to resign as Prime Minister, declaring “enough is enough.”
Councillor Andrew Carter said it was time for “the Conservative Party and the country to move on” from Mr Johnson, adding “we can’t go on like this”.
The Prime Minister’s position appears precarious, after a string of frontbench resignations over the previous 24 hours.
