English Premier League giants may come as East Bengal ‘owners’, talks on, says Sourav Ganguly

KOLKATA: Will there be a wee bit of Old Trafford on the Kolkata Maidan? There might be, according to a “teaser” from self-confessed local football fan Sourav Ganguly.

If Dada’s words ultimately come true, city football club East Bengal — one of the original ‘Big Three’ of Maidan football — could soon be a part of the Manchester United bandwagon. According to the BCCI president, the EPL giant, which has a huge following in the city, is thinking of investing in the club, and “might come as owners”.
