A number of English fans have fumed after finding out the derelict Casement Park made the shortlist for proposed host stadiums for the Euro 2028 bid.
Despite laying derelict in Belfast, Casement Park is among the 10 stadiums selected for the bid.
The future of the stadium remains up in the air but a successful bid could give future plans the shot in the arm the project needs to finally get completed.
The Belfast ground has been mooted for €90m renovation but is has long been at a standstill as costs continue to rise.
A number of British fans have since realised Casement Park has been named on the list instead of stadiums such as Anfield and Old Trafford.
One person said: "What's the point if we have to select places in Ireland that aren't even stadiums."
While another said: "It wouldn't be ready for a European Championship held in 2048, let alone 2028."
And another added: "I'm sure that is going to help with the bid."
The Aviva Stadium has been listed in the bid while Croke Park failed the make the cut.
