England have been conducting warm-weather and humidity training in Florida for more than a week as they gear up for their World Cup opener against Croatia in Dallas on June 17.
Their first warm-up game saw Harry Kane’s goal earn a 1-0 win over New Zealand on Saturday in a match where Thomas Tuchel fielded a completely new XI for the second half and connections between players were not always clean.
The Arsenal quartet of Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke and Tuchel’s new vice-captain, Declan Rice, were not involved in the New Zealand game after being given an extended rest after the Gunners’ involvement in the Champions League final.
They joined the rest of the squad at the weekend, though, and Rice and Madueke start tonight, with Saka and Eze on the bench.
Dean Henderson also joined the squad late, midway through last week, after Crystal Palace contested the Conference League final. The other goalkeepers, Jordan Pickford and James Trafford, played a half each against New Zealand, with Pickford starting on Wednesday.
Reece James is at right-back, with Nico O’Reilly on the left and John Stones partnered by Ezri Konsa in central defence.
Rice is joined by Elliot Anderson in the midfield engine room, with captain Harry Kane supported by the attacking trio of Madueke, Jude Bellingham and Anthony Gordon.
Bellingham intriguingly gets the nod ahead of Morgan Rogers in the No10 role.
England XI: Pickford, James, Konsa, Stones, O'Reilly, Anderson, Rice, Madueke, Bellingham, Gordon, Kane
