Harry Maguire and Jack Grealish’s families and WAGs have reportedly led a mass walkout as they abandon their luxury cruise liner as their England footy playing fellas prepare to embark on the knock out stages of the competition.
The ladies, who have been joined by family, friends and children, had been supporting the team while staying aboard the £1billion
docked in Doha’s harbour alongside another 6,000 top dollar paying passengers.
But the WAGs, reportedly led by Harry Maguire and Jack Grealish’s partners, have now left the cruise liner, following reports that they were not happy with life at sea.
The luxury cruise ship is described as being an "ultramodern urban metropolis" by its owners, with packages to stay on it costing up to £6,000.
But insiders have claimed they felt “isolated”, while late-night fan celebrations disturbed their sleep.
And an incident where a fellow cruise guest urinated into the atrium from the fifth floor was the final straw, according to the Daily Mail.
The Maguires and Grealishes were “among the first to flag issues” according to the publication.
Team star Harry Maguire has opted to relocate his family at the Waldorf Astoria described as ‘a luxury oasis in the Arabian Gulf’ with a private beach, a spa and eight top restaurants.
The location of the hotel is perfect for his family — should him and his teammates make it to the World Cup final — which is a short distance from the Lusail Stadium where the tournament will culminate on December 18th.
England defender Conor Coady ’s wife Amie, 29, also appears to have left the ship as she showed off a spectacular marbled villa by a beach on her Instagram last week.
Kennedy Alexa, also updated followers saying she was enjoying 'quality time' with her man James Maddison, sharing a shot of them kissing together at their villa.
Other players who have relocated from the luxury liner include Jack Grealish ’s partner Sasha Attwood, 27, Jordan Pickford ’s wife Megan, 26, Kyle Walker ’s model wife Annie Kilner, 30, and Luke Shaw ’s girlfriend Anouska Santos, 30.
England Manager Gareth Southgate granted his side a welcome day off on Wednesday as they enjoyed the warm weather alongside their loved ones.
Many of the squad have opted to bring their young families along for the ride and one of the youngest was midfielder Declan Rice with his partner Lauren Fryer and baby son Leo, saying: ‘I’ve got my little newborn out here with me so I was able to spend the day with him.
He added: "We’ve not seen our families the whole time, so when we do see them it’s really special."
A Football Association source told The Mail Online the WAGs had left the ship but said that had always been the plan following the group stage of the tournament.
