According to a report from David Ornstein of The Athletic, the former Nottingham Forest player has signed for a fee of £116 million.
The British transfer record is still held by Liverpool, who secured the services of Alexander Isak for £125 million after turbulent summer drama following the Reds' 2024/25 Premier League title win.
However, Anderson will go down as Manchester City's most expensive signing of all time, even after forming a dangerously stacked dynasty that won six out of ten available top-flight titles under Guardiola.
Despite earlier suggestions that Anderson may have eclipsed Isak as the most expensive transfer in British football history, in a deal worth around £130 million, that figure has since decreased.
According to report from The Telegraph, the England star has beaten Jack Grealish's previous club record fee of £100 million, however, the deal has indeed been set for £116 million, with no bonuses involved.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the figure, stating via X that the transfer has been completed with no financial add-ons.
However, to complicate matters, fellow transfer expert Ben Jacobs has revealed that Forest "maintain [the deal is] up to £130 million," making it possible that Isak's record will be dethroned.
In regard to the timeline of Anderson's move, his United States medical remains set for Friday morning, according to Ornstein.
That would occur prior to England's game against Panama, which the midfielder will likely be part of, as the Three Lions look to top Group L.
As it stands, Anderson's transfer fee is certain to break Manchester City's club record, however, the British record remains unclear.
