England squad: Tyrick Mitchell, Kyle Walker-Peters and Ollie Watkins called up after dropouts

Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters have been rewarded with their first England senior call-ups.

The pair of full-backs will also be joined in the squad by West Bromwich Albion’s Sam Johnstone and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

This follows the withdrawal of Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Tammy Abraham through injury.

It will be Mitchell’s first involvement with England at any level while Walker-Peters, a 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup winner, has amassed caps from U18 through to U21 level. Injuries to the likes of Luke Shaw, Kieran Trippier and Ben Chilwell had left Gareth Southgate light in the left-back department.

Mitchell joins Palace teammates Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher in the squad after successful seasons at Selhurst Park, while Southampton have further representation through James Ward-Prowse.

England host Switzerland on Saturday 26 March (5.30pm kick-off) for an Alzheimer’s Society International before welcoming Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday 29 March (7.45pm kick-off). Both games are at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley), Sam Johnstone (West Bromwich Albion).

Defenders: Conor Coady (Wolves), Marc Guehi (Crystal Palace), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Tyrick Mitchell (Crystal Palace), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Ben White (Arsenal), Kyle Walker-Peters (Southampton).

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Declan Rice (West Ham), James Ward-Prowse (Southampton).

Forwards: Phil Foden (Manchester City), Jack Grealish (Manchester City), Harry Kane (Tottenham), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Emile Smith Rowe (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa).
