Crystal Palace’s Tyrick Mitchell and Southampton’s Kyle Walker-Peters have been rewarded with their first England senior call-ups.
The pair of full-backs will also be joined in the squad by West Bromwich Albion’s Sam Johnstone and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
This follows the withdrawal of Aaron Ramsdale, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Tammy Abraham through injury.
It will be Mitchell’s first involvement with England at any level while Walker-Peters, a 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup winner, has amassed caps from U18 through to U21 level. Injuries to the likes of Luke Shaw, Kieran Trippier and Ben Chilwell had left Gareth Southgate light in the left-back department.
Mitchell joins Palace teammates Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher in the squad after successful seasons at Selhurst Park, while Southampton have further representation through James Ward-Prowse.
England host Switzerland on Saturday 26 March (5.30pm kick-off) for an Alzheimer’s Society International before welcoming Côte d’Ivoire on Tuesday 29 March (7.45pm kick-off). Both games are at Wembley Stadium connected by EE.
