New England head coach Steve Borthwick has axed senior stars Billy Vunipola, Jonny May and Jack Nowell in his first Six Nations squad.
It's a bold and significant move from the new coach as he sets his stall out in the wake of Eddie Jones' departure.
Number eight Vunipola and wings May and Nowell were all involved in the 27-13 defeat by South Africa that concluded the autumn and spelt the end of the Jones era.
