England’s World Cup run has given the economy a much-needed £2billion boost.
Experts believe UK expenditure will hit £2.04billion for this year’s tournament, with around £1.02billion spent on food and drink, £197million on sportswear, £318.7million on electricals and £61.4million on souvenirs.
The total hospitality spend is likely to be around £441.8million – with around £70.8million of that spent on booze.
This weekend, as Argentina face France in the final, the hospitality sector is hoping to rake in £16million.
Money-saving website VoucherCodes.co.uk estimates that around six million pints will be sold.
Research by The Oxford Partnership also found that every pub in Britain sold an extra 166 pints on average during England’s quarter-final defeat to France last Saturday.

Anita Naik, of VoucherCodes.co.uk, said: “Fans across the UK have not been deterred from getting into the spirit of the competition.”
James Hardiman, senior analyst at the British Retail Consortium, said: “It has added to the festivities and been a treat for retailers as much as spectators.”
