Jonny Bairstow struck England's second-fastest Test hundred as New Zealand were beaten at Trent Bridge on Tuesday.
England successfully chased 299 on a thrilling final day in Nottingham to go into a 2-0 lead and seal a series win.

Alex Lees - 7

Got a lot of praise for 31 and 20 at Lord’s, but this was another step up. Looks a player transformed since the Caribbean, and is capable of looking dominant. Will feel he left a couple of bigger scores out there, but is improving.
Zak Crawley - 2

Crawley got two good balls early on from Trent Boult, but quite simply needs to find a way to deal with them better. Has been in worrying form since his excellent hundred in Antigua. A mixed bag in the field, but a vital, smart run out on day three.
Ollie Pope - 9

Could this be Pope’s breakthrough hundred? Played terrifically in the first innings, making the most of a dropped catch. Got a beauty in the second innings. Smart run out, too.
Joe Root - 8
176 & 3
A wonderful hundred in the first innings, in which he just zipped along without a care in the world. Failed in the second, as he will occasionally. Very costly drop of Mitchell on day one.
Jonny Bairstow - 9
8 & 136
Got a beauty in the first innings, but played the most sublime, calculated knick in the second to scoop man of the match award. Form of Foakes and Harry Brook meant there was some pressure on his place, even after a strong winter.
Ben Stokes - 8
46 & 75*; 2-85 & 0-62
England’s best bowler in the first innings, a catalyst of an innings on day three, then an excellent effort in the chase. Also caught well, and had a good game as captain again.
Ben Foakes - 8

Close to flawless with the gloves at the ground he believes is toughest to keep on. Batted with zip in the first innings before he was run out buy Potts, then was there in the chase once more. Making strides.
Matt Potts - 5
1-126 & 2-32
Dream debut at Lord’s, but was brought back down to earth a little here. Expensive in first innings, when he also dropped an easy catch, but much better in the second. Couple of other slightly dopey moments, including running out Foakes, but brings huge enthusiasm.
Jack Leach - 4
2-170 & 1-86
After a tough couple of weeks, Leach had a tough Test. On a very unhelpful surface, did not bowl with much guile and struggled to contain the Kiwis. But he had two catches dropped off his bowling – one of them, by Potts, was a sitter.
Stuart Broad - 7
2-107 & 3-70
Much better in the second innings than the first, when he was expensive. His second innings wickets, unusually, all came with the short ball, but were all absolutely vital.
James Anderson - 8
3-62 & 2-20
Arrived with a ridiculous record at Trent Bridge – and somehow managed to improve it. Now has 73 wickets at the ground, and inevitably chalked up another milestone – 650 in Tests – along the way. He was curiously underused in the second innings.
