England make careful plans to reduce World Cup 2022 heat risk

England are banking on early exposure to Qatar’s heat standing them in good stead come Monday’s opener against Iran.

Gareth Southgate’s side have been training at 12.30pm local time at their Al Wakrah base, where temperatures have soared above 30 degrees. The approach is different from Wales, who have pushed their sessions back to 4.30pm to escape the worst of the heat.
