England Lioness Alex Greenwood said she will "never forget" where she is from during the official unveiling of her mural.
The 29-year-old Euro 2022 winner started her footballing journey in her hometown of Bootle just a "stone's throw away" from where the 22ft mural commemorating her sporting successes now stands. Alex, who has represented the world of women’s football from an early age, came off the bench in the second half when the Lionesses beat Germany 2-1 at Wembley in July
Surrounded by her friends and family Alex said she hopes the mural shows young women that "anything is possible to achieve" in football.

Speaking to the ECHO she said: "Tonight is really special and it shows have far women's football has come. It's gone full circle from when I started to now the game has completely changed but for the right reasons.
"The mural shows that you have an opportunity to play football at a high level and if you really want to do it anything is possible to achieve. That is the message I wanted to send and that is the message I will continue to send."
Liverpool artist John Culshaw, who is known for murals of Ringo Starr in Toxteth and Mo Salah in Anfield, was tasked with creating the mural, funded due to a joint venture by Sefton Council and REPT Sports.
Alex, a former pupil at Savio Salesian high school, said: "Just driving in I feel very much at home and I will never forget where I am from. This is home for me and it always will be.
"I started playing on Northfield just a stone's throw away and seeing everyone here tonight, my nephew was born during the Euros and my eldest nephew has grown up knowing women's football is normal is so important."
