The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Tuesday that starting from the upcoming year, male and female cricketers across professional domestic cricket will receive equal starting salaries. This decision applies to players at both the newly introduced 'Rookie' level and the 'Senior Pro' level.
The 'Rookie' level, which is being introduced into the women's game for the first time, will serve as a player's first professional contract. On the other hand, the 'Senior Pro' level is designated for established players in first teams.
