- Fifa decided to mandate that each game of the competition include two three-minute stoppages, one in each half, for the first time at this tournament to help players cope with the intense heat and humidity of the North American summer.
- England must win or better Ghana’s result against Croatia to qualify as group winners from Group L but a draw against Panama and a win by Ghana over Croatia will see The Three Lions qualify as Group L runners-up; If England qualify as group winners, they will next play at 5pm BST on Wednesday 1 July, but if Thomas Tuchel’s side finish second, they will play at 12am BST on 3 July.
