Football hero Harry Kane has revealed what helps get him in the right frame of mind before a big game

“Everything I put on first is left — so left sock first, left boot, left shinpad. It’s something I’ve always done and stuck to it,” he told the Standard.
“I guess it just gets me in the right frame of mind when I’m in the changing room and gets me ready for the game.”
The striker, 29, made the admission as he joined forces with Lionesses captain Leah Williamson to unveil a new mural today at interactive football and dining venue TOCA Social at the O2 in Greenwich.
Created by a team of British artists from street art collective MurWalls, the 12ft tall and 50ft wide graffiti-style mural took three days to complete and shows both Kane and Williamson in various poses from celebrations to determination.
It also features quotes from the pair along with text displaying the traits of a good captain.
Kane said he was blown away after seeing it for the first time.
“It’s incredible. I think it will inspire a lot of children, especially coming here and seeing it and give them motivation to one day to be in my position,” he said.
He was also optimistic when asked about his team’s chances as the Three Lions prepare to travel to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.
“We know it will be difficult, we know it will be tough, but we know we have got a team that can achieve that,” he added.
“Being England’s captain is the proudest thing I can do. To walk the boys out and be the leader in the team — it’s just something I’ll never take for granted.”
