England Women's boss Sarina Wiegman is one of three managers in the running for The Best FIFA Women's Coach Award.
The illustrious accolade recognises outstanding coaching performances in the women’s game from the period between August 2021 and 2022, with the winner selected by an international jury. Wiegman was the mastermind behind England's EUROs triumph last summer; the Lionesses having beaten Germany in the final to claim their first ever piece of major silverware.
With the 53-year-old at the helm, the Lionesses have won 22 and drawn four of their 26 matches. With those statistics in mind, it's little wonder Wiegman is vying to win Best FIFA Women’s Coach Award for a third time, having taken home the prize in 2017 and 2020.

However, the Dutch coach will face stern competition from Lyon's Sonia Bompastor and Brazil boss Pia Sundhage. Bompastor wrote her name into French football folklore when she led Lyon to a French league title and UEFA Women’s Champions League double in her first full season as manager.
The former France international defender, who was also a two-time European champion as a player with Lyon, took over in April 2021 after eight years as the club’s academy director. Lyon won 21 and drew one of their 22 domestic league matches under the 42-year-old's stewardship, winning the Division 1 Feminine championship back from Paris St Germain.
Sundhage meanwhile guided Brazil to Copa America Feminina glory in 2022, with her side scoring 20 goals across six games without conceding a single goal. The Swede boasts a hugely impressive managerial career, having led the USA to Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012 and to a runners-up finish at the 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The winner of the award will be announced at a Paris ceremony tonight.
