Enes Freedom has revealed a private text exchange with Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham following his controversial ejection from a WNBA game, offering a glimpse into their relationship as his dispute over the courtside incident moves into federal court.

Speaking on Fox News' The Big Weekend Show, the former NBA player said Cunningham contacted him following his removal from the Indiana Fever-Chicago Sky game at Wintrust Arena on 23 August. According to Freedom, Cunningham asked him a simple question: 'What happened?'
