Eastern Australia’s energy markets may resume normal operations within a week as more coal-fired power plants return to operation and the cold snap ebbs, Kerry Schott, the former head of the Energy Security Board, said.
The Australian Energy Market Operator (Aemo) on Wednesday suspended indefinitely the national electricity market for wholesale power after the regulator found it “impossible” to manage supply without ordering companies to resume generation.
