A popular bar has announced it will be closing its doors after seven years in Bury town centre. Propaganda, a cocktail bar and restaurant on Silver Street, announced the news via social media yesterday.
It is the end of an era for the bar, but the team have promised one last "propa party" this weekend as they bid farewell to its loyal customers and staff. The post confirming the news was flooded with comments as people shared their memories of the town centre spot.
In a post entitled "End of an era", the team at Bury Propaganda wrote: "It is with great sadness we inform you that we will be opening the doors to Propaganda for the final time this weekend.

"Thank you to all of our customers, past and present, and all the amazing staff we’ve had the pleasure of working with over the last 7 years, it’s been an absolute blast!
"We hope Propaganda lives on in your memories, we know it will in ours...Now it’s time for one last Propa party!
"Wave goodbye to dry jan, get your dancing shoes on and let’s make it a weekend to remember! Let’s drink this bar dry. (We will be open for the final time from 7pm this Friday & Saturday for drinks only)."
Responding to the news, fans of the bar commented on the post by sharing their sadness while also thanking the venue. One person on Facebook wrote: "Sorry to hear this. It was always a great venue to Dj in. I wish all the staff all the best for the future."
Another said that they were "absolutely gutted" to see it go and that they would "be there all weekend" in support, while a third person wrote, "gutted loved the place when I lived in Bury great memories."
Just last week the bar posted that due circumstances beyond it's control it was unable to open between Thursday and Sunday. They added that they were sorry for any inconvenience, would be in touch with those who were booked in to visit and would reopen on Friday, February 3, but the latest news confirms that the venue's last weekend operating will be this Saturday (February 4).
