One unidentified militant was killed and three jawans were injured in an anti-militancy operation in north Kashmir’s Baramulla on July 30.
“There was a tip-off about the presence of militants and a joint operation was launched in Baramulla’s Wanigam (in the morning). The hiding militant opened fire and resulted in an encounter. Two Army soldiers and a policeman were injured,” Rayees Mohammad Bhat , Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) , Baramulla, said.

He said the hiding militant was also killed in the encounter, “whose identity is being ascertained”.
“One AK-47, three magazines and a pouch were recovered (from the encounter site)“, SSP Bhat said.
The police said the operation in the area has been called off.
One sniffer dog of the security forces also died during the operation.
