Plans to turn six empty council houses into emergency accommodation for homeless families are set to be given the go ahead by Midlothian councillors next week.
The Midlothian Families Project will take the properties, which are said to difficult to re-let, and use them for short term accommodation for people with children or a pregnant member of their household.
A report to the council's cabinet on Tuesday asks for the go ahead to use the properties, described as two three-bedroom and four two-bedroom homes. and says it will be the third project of this type in Midlothian.
