The Emmys are here again to honor the best in US television. However, many of you may be asking: wasn't there already an Emmys ceremony back in January? Yes, there was, and while many referred to those as the Emmys 2024, they were actually the Emmys for 2023, delayed from taking place because of the 2023 Hollywood strikes. The upcoming ceremony is the true Emmys 2024 (or 76th Primetime Emmys if you want to be official).
This edition of the awards ceremony covers TV shows released as far back as June 2023 through May 31, 2024; though if closer to the latter, they must have aired at least six episodes (sorry Bridgerton season 3 fans, the Netflix show won't be eligible for Emmys this year). So some of the top contenders this year include Abbott Elementary season 3, The Bear season 2, The Crown season 6, Fallout, The Gentlemen, Hacks season 3, Lessons in Chemistry, Ripley, Shogun and more.
From the official Emmy nominees to when the awards show is going to take place, here is everything you need to know about the Emmys 2024.
Emmys 2024 date
The Emmys are returning to their usual timeframe, as the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on Sunday, September 15, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on ABC. The full ceremony will then be available to stream on Hulu the next day, September 16.
In order to watch the Emmys live, you must have a TV service that carries ABC, whether that be a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna that receives your local station or a live TV streaming service like Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV.

Emmys 2024 host
The Emmys have officially announced who will be hosting this year's ceremony: Eugene Levy and Dan Levy. The Schitt's Creek stars are the first father-and-son duo to ever host the awards show.
Both Eugene and Dan Levy are previous Emmy winners, with trophies for Outstanding Comedy, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Eugene Levy) and Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Dan Levy) for their work on Schitt's Creek.
In addition to the Emmys, Eugene Levy is going to be seen in the upcoming Only Murders in the Building season 4 (Hulu is owned by Disney, like ABC, so the crossover makes sense). Meanwhile Dan Levy is developing a new animated TV series called Standing By that is expected to premiere in 2025.
