Emmerdale fans will witness horrifying scenes in the coming weeks, while an eerie flashforward will give a glimpse at what's ahead on the ITV soap.
As the big week kicks off, with lives on the line, each episode will show a glimpse into the future before all is revealed at the end of the week.
Emmerdale has used the editing tactic before for other big events, and it's certainly going to get viewers in a panic.
Speaking to The Mirror and other press, producer Laura Shaw said fans will be "screaming" at the television during the first big flashforward, that will air at the very start of the week.
She said: "When we get into the big week - Monday, we'll start with a flash-forward where you'll be absolutely screaming at your TV to find out what on earth is going on.
"I think I actually squealed with excitement when I saw what was taking place next week. And then we reveal a little bit more each day - Monday to Thursday with the flash-forwards with everything obviously being fully revealed by the end of the week."
She also revealed: "So on the Friday episode before the big week you'll get a taste of what's to come. So we end that week bouncing round the character groups that will feature in the flash-forward week, as it's become affectionately known in Emmerdale HQ.
"So, Noah and his obsession with Chloe, Gabby and the fears about Jamie coming back to take Thomas, we'll see some things going on with Faith that she's keeping a secret, but why?
"We'll also see the Cain and Al rivalry resurface and I can promise you that that will take a big twist in the special week and lives will definitely be in danger."
On the implications of the big week and what they've been planning, Laura teased: "We've been planning this for a while now and we know that the audience love it when we step out of our usual storytelling style.
"We've done a similar sort of thing like this before - we did the Big Night Out episode, we did Graham's murder and we're going to be following a similar pattern of episodes that start with flash-forwards that gives the audience the chance to play a bit of Emmerdale detective and see if they can work out what's going to happen during the week.
"I think it's always exciting when we do these weeks and I think Emmerdale's become really well known for them now and it's always the question I get asked the most - when are you doing it again?
"Certainly here, it gets the whole building buzzing with excitement, because everyone knows it's going to mean some stories that have been bubbling away are going to massively explode in a huge way, whilst also kicking off other stories in a big dramatic fashion that will take us through the rest of the year and to our huge 50th birthday celebrations in October."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays.
