Emmerdale viewers were thrilled to see Marlon dingle recovering from his stroke.
Marlon suffered a stroke earlier this year and lost the majority of his mobility and speech. The character had to rely on his friends and family for basic care after the storyline forced a monumental switch in his story.
The actor who plays Marlon, Mark Charnock, underwent rigorous training from the Stroke Association and survivors to ensure his portrayal was handled sensitively and with care. Since the incident, Marlon has been praised for a bringing realistic depictions to the masses.

In tonight's episode, Marlon showed clear signs of recovery as he was able to handle household chores by himself. Cooking and chopping a meal alone, the emotional scenes were praised by viewers.
One fan said: "Marlon is portraying this role very well. He’s showing the emotional after-effects of a stroke."
Another added: "Lovely to see Marlon making progress."
A third said: "Hope this means Marlon will be back at the woolie by next week then."
Whilst a final added: "Amazing seeing Marlon doing so well and doing things for himself again."
The extent of Marlon's stroke was so severe he was told if his blood pressure rises too high he could be at serious risk of hospitalising himself again. Fighting through his disability, viewers not long ago watched him walk unaided down the aisle for the first time since the accident.
