Emmerdale fans were surprised by scenes just minutes into Thursday's episode.
Nicola was seen for the first time in a few months, with viewers shown her husband Jimmy trying to romance her in their kitchen. As Jimmy said: "Why are you so dressed up?" Jimmy replied: "Because people give me funny looks when I go out in my knickers".
Jimmy said he would give her "more than a look" before announcing he had made brunch. He said: "I thought I'd take advantage of your dad having the kids".

And when Nicola apologised and said there was "no time", Jimmy immediately began unbuttoning his shirt. When Nicola stopped him, he added: "I can be really quick if you can".
Soap fans were clearly unhappy with the scenes. Taking to Twitter, VampLover27 said: "Jimmy's becoming a dirty old man". Lydia said: "Already switched off. Can't be dealing with a mucky Jimmy at teatime".
Referring to similar romantic scenes in Coronation Street, Lou Lou said: "Please don't do a #corrie Sally and Tim with Jimmy and Nicola", while Gav called the scenes "dirty".
