Emmerdale viewers were left feeling gutted for Paddy Dingle after tuning into Friday night's episode.
The latest instalment of the ITV soap saw the situation intensify between Paddy's wife Chas and Al Chapman, following their kiss on Thursday.
Chas (Lucy Pargeter) has been been finding in comfort in her former arch enemy after learning that her mum Faith has cancer again.
However, she seems to be trying her best to fight her feelings for Al (Michael Wildman) and during Friday's episode she lashed out at him.
"This is all just a big game to you isn't it?" Chas said, before adding: "I was upset and you took advantage."
But Al was having none of it and told her: "You wanted to kiss me as much as I wanted to kiss you, and you enjoyed it. It's not my fault you're in denial."
Clearly panicking, Chas then asked: "Is this you trying to sabotage me again? Are you going to tell Paddy? Are you gonna try and split us up?"
Al replied bluntly: "Chas, if I wanted to throw you under the bus, I'd have done it by now. Because let's be honest, you've given me enough ammunition."
"I hate you! Stay away from me!" Chas shouted at him before storming off, but Al did nothing of the sort.
Instead, he tried to stall having a night in with Kerry by pretending he had some business to take care of - but he was actually planning to try and meet up with Chas.
As she sat down for dinner with Paddy at home, Chas' mobile phone dinged but she tried to ignore it.
Paddy (Dominic Brunt) urged her to check her phone, but when she realised it was a text from Al, she tried to play it cool and keep a straight face.
The text message read: "Hey there, maybe we should have a chat?" but as Paddy asked who it was that had text her, his own phone rang and distracted him.
Chas quickly replied to Al and said: "Tomorrow. Midday. Not in the village," and he confirmed that he would sort a meeting place for them.
Emmerdale fans predicted that Paddy is going to be left heartbroken by Chas' infidelity.
Taking to Twitter, one person wrote: "Paddy deserves better than Chas! #Emmerdale."
Another fumed: "Chas, stop being a complete b*tch to Paddy you're the problem not him."
A third viewer tweeted: "Poor Paddy he deserves better #Emmerdale," while a fourth added: "Chas is such a c*w to poor old Paddington."
Someone else said: "I hope Mandy and Paddy get back together soon when he finds out his wife Chas is having an affair with Al."
