Emmerdale viewers were shocked to see Harriet Finch die in the storm.
As the storm ripped through the village, most of the residents found shelter before things took a turn for the worst. Not everyone was safe from the chaos however as resident policewoman Harriet faced the brunt of the trouble head-on.
Last night, viewers were left on a cliffhanger as they watched Harriet lie lifeless on the ground. Assuming such a pivotal character would make it to the end, they were shocked to see her body still there tonight as the storm raged on.

Former love interest Dan eventually found Harriet and tried to get a response but she was lifted lifelessly into his arms. Beginning to weep, Dan and viewers assumed the worst.
One viewer said: "Omg Harriet didn't make it." Another added: "OMG poor Dan, having to be the one to actually find poor Harriet's body sadly. He genuinely really liked her didn't he?" A third viewer said: "Harriet's dead omggg."
Kim returned to the village to explain the situation before being hounded for leaving Harriet by herself. As she broke down in tears, she explained there was heavy blood loss and that it was "too late for her, she's already dead."
