Emmerdale bosses left fans reeling this week when it was revealed Caleb and Nicky are father and son.
The pair have teamed up with one another to try and wrestle Home Farm from Kim Tate's grip. Caleb is seemingly out for revenge as his father is Frank Tate, whilst his mother is said to be Faith Dingle.
Despite us learning a lot about Nicky and Caleb over the past couple of episodes, there's still some huge gaps in our knowledge as viewers. Here's all the questions we desperately need answering in the coming weeks as Caleb and Nicky continue on with their plan.
Who is Nicky's mother?
Nicky might be Caleb's son but we are yet to find out who his mother is. We know the pair are in a slightly fractious relationship at present - but could that be to do with Nicky's mother and Caleb's partner or former partner?
The nanny had originally told Gabby a lie that his mother is dead but we know she is alive and the whole family are struggling. Nicky still doesn't have a surname in the credits of the ITV soap, but does that point to who his mother is?
Some fans are convinced Nicky's mum could be a former resident known to the village whilst others are convinced she is a completely new character. Whoever she is, it will no doubt be explosive when it's finally revealed.
Is Caleb really Faith's son?
Some viewers have been wondering if Caleb really is Faith's son. Prior to his arrival, there was no mention that there was a secret son anywhere, and fans have long suspected all is not what it seems with Caleb.
When he arrived, he focused on the Dingles - getting to know his siblings Cain and Chas with varying levels of success. He was angry at Cain, as he was the reason he didn't know about his mum's recent death, but if his plan all along has been to take down the Tates, is it true that he really is Faith's son or is he just impersonating the real Caleb?
Actor Will Ash - who plays Caleb - said he knew about the plot twist right from the get go, sharing: "I knew that Frank Tate was Caleb’s dad and Faith his mum. Plus I knew that Caleb’s son had got a job at Home Farm which Caleb had pushed him to do to place him in that world to find out as much as possible about it."
However, is this just another red herring thrown in to keep the secret at bay?
When did Faith and Frank meet?
If Caleb is to be believed - not sure we do now after the lies he's been telling! - then he was born to Faith Dingle and Frank Tate. But viewers of the soap have been left puzzled into how this might have happened?
The pair have never once appeared in the Dales at the same time and whilst Faith has quite a history with Kim, there is no link between her and Frank and a possible fling between the pair of them.
All we know is that Caleb was born to Faith in prison. She had hid her pregnancy from her family, and gave birth to Caleb there and then put into care. Her partner Shadrach was not the baby's father so she told no one about her son, hence why he took her maiden name - Miligan -before arriving in the village to confront his siblings over what happened.
Is Caleb working with someone else?
Caleb has made no secret of his real reason for being in the village and his big plan to secure Home Farm, which he feels is his birth right following the death of his father Frank Tate.
However, some viewers have speculated whether or not he could be working alongside someone else - with fans throwing up names such as Joe Tate and Jamie Tate, both who certainly have a reason to get back at Kim.
Taking to Twitter, one fan suggested: "I'm pretty sure Caleb and Nicky are working with Jamie AND Joe to fleece every penny out of Kim. They must be," as another penned online: "Still trying to figure out what Caleb's intentions are with Kim. Is he working under Joe or Jamie Tate maybe? That would be an epic twist. #Emmerdale."
Back in December, executive producer Jane Hudson teased of a possible return: "I can't tell you! I can't say because I’m still checking. We are doing June storylines at the minute, and I had an idea the other day and thought 'Ah, our viewers would love that'. But we have to wait. I got giddy then!" Could this possibly be a return for Joe or Jamie Tate in helping Caleb to bring Kim down?
